Can drinking hot beverages from a plastic travel mug cause cancer?

Now that scientists are telling us not to leave plastic water bottles in a car or any other place where it gets hot because it can cause cancer, due to chemicals leeching out of the plastic, I wonder about plastic travel mugs that people use for hot drinks like coffee and tea. It stands to reason that it would also cause cancer.

NO. STOP! DON’T USE PLASTIC MUGS! You will die a slow horrible cancerous death. These mugs have a chemical that can encourage prostate cancer. BPA (bisphenol A)? As a female, you probably don’t have a prostate (just a guess), but I recommend that you DO NOT drink coffee or anything from a plastic travel mug. EVER.

The ONLY safe beverage out there for human consumption is BEER that is packaged in an environmentally safe, recycleable glass bottles.
